Here is one: Unlike applying to graduate school, where one completes an application and sends it off only to wait 6 months for a answer about whether or not you are selected by the admission board, with medical credentialing we will often know much closer the beginning of the process whether an insurance company (insurance panel) is going to accept you into their network.
